Please describe your career path?
While pursuing my degree in Health Care Management at Metropolitan State University of Denver, I worked as a receptionist at a small dental office. This was a great part-time job while getting my degree. Upon graduation, I prospected many companies to work for that would allow me to grow my professional career and MedKeeper was the best fit. MedKeeper incorporated my two greatest interests - healthcare and technology.
How did your previous roles help prepare you for what you are doing now?
As a receptionist, I had to interact with people on a day-to-day basis. This helped me develop my communication skills which I use every day at MedKeeper.
How would you describe the environment and culture of MedKeeper?
MedKeeper is team oriented and filled with people who care about each other and what we do as a business. Not only do we work hard, but we also make sure to have fun and make each other laugh daily. There is never a dull moment!
What factors originally drew you to working for MedKeeper?
I originally heard about MedKeeper through one of my college professors. She had informed me that it was an up and coming company, which caught my attention. After doing some research, I found that the open position at MedKeeper aligned with my interests in healthcare technology.
What advice do you have for current pharmacy technicians who may be interested in following a similar career path to yours?
I would advise them to be willing to take on various challenges and learn how to work well in a team environment, be self-motivated, and organized. This is such a great job for anyone wanting to get out of actual practice and get behind the scenes to help create and support a product that assists in improving efficiency in the pharmacy and patient safety.
Is there anything else about your experience at MedKeeper that you’d like to share?
Every day at MedKeeper brings new challenges. I am constantly learning and surrounded by an incredible group of people that are always willing to help!
