Please describe your career path?
I had the hopes of working in marketing while in college. Upon graduation, I decided I wanted to pursue a career in education. After working in education, I decided that the private sector fit my interests more closely. Because of this, I sought a role in a company whose values aligned with mine.
How did your previous roles help prepare you for what you are doing now?
As a teacher, I needed to adapt to a multitude of situations. This, along with the skills I developed pertaining to juggling multiple tasks at the same time has been a benefit while at MedKeeper. I also believe that my tenure in the education field helped me develop strong emotional intelligence. This has been an asset while dealing with customers.
How would you describe the environment and culture of MedKeeper?
I believe the culture and environment at MedKeeper is built upon a foundation of hard work, reciprocity and fun. We embrace a culture that emphasizes work ethic. However, colleagues are always willing to deviate from their tasks to help a teammate. Sometimes this “help” transpires as a joke or story to make a stressed teammate smile.
What factors originally drew you to working for MedKeeper?
MedKeeper was an emerging company with an environment in which I felt comfortable. This was intriguing to me because I appreciated the team oriented collaborative nature of the MedKeeper culture.
What advice do you have for current pharmacy technicians who may be interested in following a similar career path to yours?
I would suggest taking on difficult tasks that take you out of your comfort zone, and learn how to engage colleagues with the goal of learning the necessary skills to accomplish that task. The gained skillset will be a benefit to, not only yourself, but the team around you.
Is there anything else about your experience at MedKeeper that you’d like to share?
MedKeeper has a great team that supports each other.
