Southern Hospital Selects MedBoard™ (1/29/2010)

A progressive hospital that is part of a five-hospital system, has selected MedBoard™ as their hospital pharmacy Medication Tracking System. With MedBoard™, medications are tracked throughout the preparation, approval and delivery processes using wireless and tethered barcode scanners. Real-time data is then made available to pharmacy and nursing users through a secure, HIPAA-compliant website. MedBoard™ will enhance productivity and workflow efficiency by queuing and prioritizing orders to decrease calls to pharmacy and minimize lookups. In addition, MedBoard™ will reduce waste and re-work of orders while enhancing communication between nursing and pharmacy. Lastly, MedBoard™ will allow the pharmacy to demonstrate performance to improve and quantify delivery times while justifying staffing levels with the goal to ensure patient safety and accurate treatment according to prescribed schedules.
