Award-Winning Health System Chooses FormChecker (3/28/2008)

MedKeeper announced today that an award-winning midwestern health network has signed a three-year contract for MedKeeper’s FormChecker formulary management and pharmacy communications system. Sold under an exclusive agreement with Gold Standard, Inc., and seamlessly integrated with the drug information resource, Clinical Pharmacology, FormChecker will be deployed across the 4-hospital system. Renowned for its world-class programs, three of the system’s hospitals were recently recognized by HeathGrades with the rare Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence (placing them among the top 5% percent out of 5,000 acute-care hospitals) and have also received 100 Top Hospital recognitions by Solucient.

Management

Cynthia Gelman, BS Pharm, RPh, Chief Operating Officer
Cindi has more than 25 years of experience in the health information industry. She earned her degree in Pharmacy from the University of Colorado. She held many positions at Thomson/Micromedex, including Vice President, Drug Information Publishing, and Senior Vice President Editorial and Product Management. Cindi has also worked with Pharmacy Choice, Inc as the Program Director for RxTechSchool, an online training program for pharmacy technicians and served as faculty at Arapahoe Community College in their Pharmacy Technician Program. She has also held an Adjoint academic appointment at the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy and has worked as the Operations Director for a local non-profit.

Jason Kilgour, President & CEO
Jason has served as President of MedKeeper since its launch in April, 2001. Prior to MedKeeper, he was Director of Business Development at Thomson Micromedex, a leading provider of health information to professionals and consumers. At Thomson, he was responsible for managing the company’s strategic planning, new product development, and business development activities. Prior to Thomson, Jason held positions in Marketing and Business Development at Novartis Pharmaceuticals. During his tenure at Novartis, he was responsible for activities including capacity planning, new product planning, product line forecasting, market research, strategic planning and partnership development.

Russ Kraus, Vice President of Information Technology
Russ has thirty years continual experience in numerous facets of business information technology and technology management. He has been responsible for the computerization and automation of many business processes in the non-profit, wholesale distribution, manufacturing and cable television industries. He has managed internal IT departments through the evolution of information technology from mainframe and minicomputers to current web based distributed systems. Almost half his career was at Micromedex where he developed some of the original CD-ROM information products as well as serving as the in-house business IT manager.

Jan Rutherford, EVP of Sales & Marketing
Jan has over 25 years of healthcare experience in a variety of leadership roles in marketing, sales, business development, information technology, and training. Jan is an adjunct instructor at the University of Colorado and the University of Denver where he teaches leadership to graduate students and Doctor of Nursing Practice candidates. He has also been a speaker at industry conferences in Europe and the United States. Prior to beginning his business career, he spent six years in the US Army Special Forces as a medic and an “A” team executive officer, and three years as a military intelligence officer. Jan holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix, and earned his undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of South Florida where he was a Distinguished Military Graduate.
